Update
Paul and Penny have arrived safely back from Australia! Praise God for Penny’s health clearance for yet another year! We want to thank all of our supporters for your prayers. Paul is currently in Chiang Mai, helping to educate and encourage future leaders. Upon her return, Penny is recognising the massive need for staff, interns and volunteers to help with the daily functions and care for everyone at Home of the Open Heart. Penny’s prayers are that God would provide the right people, with the right heart, mindset and willingness at the right time. Penny has a huge heart for connectedness, not only amongst her family at Home of the Open Heart, but also with fellow supporters and potential interns, staff and volunteers. Below are some of the most urgent vacancies that need qualified staff who seek the same heart as Penny, to care for one another as family.
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
~ Psalm 133:1 (NKJV)
Home of the Open Heart Hospice:
Home of the Open Heart is looking for full-time, medically trained personnel to care for HIV/AIDS patients who are in their final stages of the disease. The desire is for a collaborative effort of both international and Thai nationals who have a compassionate heart and willingness to serve alongside a community affected by HIV/AIDS. Ideally, there will be 5 positions for full-time nurses, as well as 5 full-time nurse assistants. Since this is a 24-hour care environment, it is wise to have at least 2 full-time staff available at all times.
House Parents:
There is currently an urgent need for house parents for the boys’ home as well as the girls’ home. Ideally, these positions would be filled by married couples who have a desire to be fully committed to everything that parenthood entails. Since this is a full-time job, there is also a need for support staff for these House Parents. The role of a support staff member would require staff to be available for the House Parents during crucial and stressful times to relieve any mental, emotional, physical and spiritual strain. Home of the Open Heart is seeking to find specifically trained personnel who have a heart to serve, parent and love the children that have already began to establish their lives here.
“Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfil my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each other esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
~Philippians 2:1-4 (NKJV)
Teachers:
We are seeking out professionals trained in TESOL who desire to serve in our community, at our children’s school, and in the local hospital teaching English. This role may include tutoring our children and helping them with homework. Training/experience with children with special needs is highly valued, as one of our little boys needs extra attention and help with school work. Consider this an awesome opportunity to challenge these children in their education as many of them already have a passion for learning.
Media Assistant:
This position is flexible since there are a couple of committed professionals who have agreed to help with website maintenance, newsletter writing, publishing and overall promotion. However, we are seeking out someone who would be able to lighten some of the load for these people. We are praying for someone who has a heart to help tastefully and respectfully promote Home of the Open Heart through social media venues as well as through photography, updates, newsletters and blogs to keep our supporters encouraged, informed and passionate about what God is doing through the people here at Home of the Open Heart.
Office Manager:
There is a need for someone who is gifted in leadership, organisation and attentiveness toward the daily functions of Home of the Open Heart and the community of staff. The primary gap that needs to be filled is for someone to manage individual sponsorship for children/women/Thai staff.
***If you are interested and willing to partner with us, or would like to hear more about how to help serve or get connected, please contact us at http://homeoftheopenheart.org/contact/.
Prayer Support:
Prayer support is what moves the Spiritual realm to act! Your prayers for Home of the Open Heart – Paul, Penny, the children, mothers, families, volunteers, interns and staff – are crucial to Home of the Open Heart’s existence. Please continue to recognize the value and power of your prayers. There is a focus on community development, quality and increase of staff and a consistent, compassionate, devoted and loving body of support. Our most urgent prayer request is for God to surround us with a body of believers who are each gifted in the areas of need listed above and have a willing heart to serve this special community at Home of the Open Heart! We greatly appreciate all of you, supporters! Thank you!
“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.”
~Romans 12:4-5 (NKJV)
